A lot of my family before me had cancer, so naturally, I have grown up with a strong desire to learn all I could and do all I can to prevent it in my own life. Well, guess what? I got it anyway. I believe 100% that everything I was doing in my lifestyle and diet and mental attitude would have prevented cancer if my circumstances were different. Through some testing, I learned I have a genetic mutation of BRCA 2. I feel like that changes things. I have learned so much through this experience already. Get a genetic test done NOW! I think everyone should get one done. It makes a difference when you know if you have one of these and what you can do for prevention. I would have definitely gone to the doctor right away instead of trying to cure myself with holistic methods first.

Get the Genetic Test! Do the preventative actions and it will be so much easier for you and your family in the end.

My Story: I found a lump in my breast and started learning all I can about how to fix it. There's a lot on the internet 🥴 I felt for sure that I could cure myself. Guys... I was wrong. Just go to the doctor and get tests done to make sure you are doing all you can for it! I waited too long. I waited until I had done all holistically with no improvement and when I noticed it started growing faster, I finally went in to the doctor. So that was in January of this year. Feb and March I had lots of tests/scans/blood work/biopsy etc. I found out I have a triple negative stage 3 breast cancer with a BRCA2 gene mutation that most likely caused it. As of today, I have only had 1 chemo treatment with more coming. I go in weekly for treatments.

Biggest thing I learned is that those people out there on the internet with success stories of curing themselves with lifestyle and diet changes is THIS- my body and Your body is completely different than theirs. Is it worth the risk? They most likely do NOT have a genetic mutation that raises their risks of it being an aggressive type. Again, get the test.

I am all for using food as my medicine and staying active. Yet, I have also added a new view that getting testing done like the genetic ones will allow you to become aware of your own body and it's unique needs and risks. Then you will have an increased power to make an even bigger difference in your health. Going to your doctor regularly helps you see the actual picture instead of the one that you think it is.

As I begin this journey of chemo treatments, hair loss, and mental fight, be sure to check into my blog often for new posts and upcoming experiences.

Here you will find a link to the specific genetic blood test that my doctor used for me.

Myriad Genetics Anyone can ask for it to be done and insurance usually pays for it if you have a family history of cancer.
