Be In Control

Writer's picture: Wholesome and FreeWholesome and Free

Too many of us are unknowingly dragging around stress trigger buttons (figuratively). Whenever something happens or something is said, it sets off one of those hidden buttons we drag around. We get angry, hurt, or flood our body with the "stress hormone". We let ourselves be acted upon.

If we want to be more in control of our own lives, we need to do the necessary work to remove these chains of trigger buttons off of us.

  1. Realize we actually do have certain things that trigger or push our buttons.

  2. Learn what they are. Write it down.

  3. Have an effective technique to use with each trigger so we can change our mindset to loosen its hold on us. (Tune in to future posts on this topic for what I recommend)

  4. Be patient with yourself on the length of time it takes to make a new way of thinking be the automatic response the majority of the time.

Let's take some time for ourselves this week by following this pattern to become free from these triggers and take back our life. Once and for all, let's stop letting our mental and physical state be determined by outside influences and finally take control of ourselves.

💬 Decide what values or principles matter to you and determine to live by them no matter the things that come up in life. Be in Control.
